The Writer Must Write
By Pamela Kimmell
We
do what we do, because we must,
Thoughts to paper, in them we trust.
Through our words we tell tales direct from our soul,
Each chapter or verse becomes part of the whole.
Like raising a child and watching her grow,
As ink from the pen flows, graceful and slow.
To write is to share a part of our heart,
Each word is a puzzle piece from ending to start.
We carefully craft, and lovingly give
Life to our characters so that they can live
A life of their own, within all the pages,
A book made of paper to last through the ages.
A book someone treasures, and gives to a friend,
A book as a gift, to someone you send.
At times we still wonder if this path we are taking,
s worth all the effort, and all the "heartaching"…….
So we stand by each other, and share ups and downs,
Though we're far from each other in our own little towns.
At our desks, tables, computers, typewriters and pens,
We're sisters of the soul, and each others best friends…...
