She Stays
By Kathleen Weisgerber
Night
wonders,
where are you?
Morn and pointed fingers
but ...
she stays.
Dawn phone rings and
"pick up, please."
Lost communication and lost car keys,
but ...
she stays.
Bashed belongings and
battered bones,
creditors cry and innocents suffer,
but ...
she stays.
Love is gone
like the liquid that
once
filled the bottle found,
and she wonders why
she stays.
