Dear Readers:

Each new year marks a new beginning: new hopes, new dreams, new plans.

Penwomanship has a dream: that women everywhere will write, submit and read what we have to offer.

We welcome submissions from women from all walks of life - different viewpoints, opinions, backgrounds, ethnicities, faiths and nationalities. The
exchange of ideas, the expansion of horizons, the community of the written word, the ability to teach and to learn -- that is what we offer here.

We are not about dieting tips. Or fashion trends. Or who's the hottest character on "Friends" (I love that show ... but that's not what this is about.)

We are about acceptance - of ourselves and of each other.

We are about giving voice to women writers.

We are about giving readers words to remember.

The one thing we will not tolerate here are messages of hate. The bashing of any group, minority, individual or business is not acceptable. Enough of that is found in daily life.

We're not about sunshine, roses and lollipops either.

We are about women's stories. Stories which may not always be pleasant. But they are real.
