Announcing
our first annual "Show us your Penwomanship" writing,
art and photography contest. Guidelines are as follows:

Guidelines
Please
read carefully before entering
All
entries MUST be the work of the submitter.
All
entries MUST be original UNPUBLISHED material.
All
contestants must be women, 18 and older.
There
is a $10 entry fee per entry. A paid one-year subscription
to Penwomanship waives up to 2 entry fees.
Entry
fees accepted via check, money order or PayPal.
Hard
copy entries must be in standard manuscript format: typed,
double-spaced, one-inch margins with submitter's name, address,
phone number, e-mail address, category and title on the cover
sheet.
Electronic
entries MUST BE IN THE BODY OF THE E-MAIL ONLY. NO EXCEPTIONS.
ATTACHMENTS WILL BE DELETED UNOPENED. Please include your
name, address, phone number and e-mail address in the body
of your electronic submission.
If
entering electronically, please include your PayPal confirmation
on your entry. Send electronic entries to contestentry@penwomanship.com
Writers
who have already submitted and/or subscribed to Penwomanship
and would like to enter the contest, please contact the editor
for further details.
Art
and photography submissions MUST be sent as jpg attachments
to penspen@yahoo.com.
Please
refrain from submitting material already submitted for the
contest to other publications until the contest winners have
been announced.
Winners
retain all rights to their work once material has been published.
Entries
must be postmarked by July 1, 2005 with winning entries published
in the Sept. 2005 issue.
Prizes
(in each category) are as follows:
Top
Prize: $100
Second Prize: $75
Third Prize: $50
All
money is in U.S. Dollars.
By
entering this contest, contestants agree to the following:
- The
work entered is unpublished, original work by the submitter;
- Any
breach of information (such as false statements about
ownership of material entered) provided to Penwomanship
in regards to contest entries shall result in disqualification
of that entry;
- All
Things Pegasus, Inc., Penwomanship, or Penny White shall
NOT be held liable for any damages, costs, loss or other
expenses arising out of such breach;
- Prizes
shall be accepted as is: no exchange, substitution or
transfer is allowed.
- By
entering this contest, all contestants agree to abide
by the rules and regulations set forth by this contest.
As
administrator of this contest, All Things Pegasus, Inc. and
Penwomanship agree to the following:
- Judging
of entries shall be conducted by an impartial, unbiased
panel of judges (none of whom are associated with Penwomanship
or All Things Pegasus, Inc.)
- All
information collected for this contest, i.e. name, address,
phone number and e-mail address, is the sole property
of All Things Pegasus, Inc. and Penwomanship and will
be used solely for the purpose of this contest. Information
will not be shared, sold or given to any other person,
entity or company. By providing this information, contestants
agree to the use of this information solely for the administering
of this contest.
- Judging
is based upon quality of writing/art/photography, originality,
and readership appeal.
- The
decisions of the judges are final.
- Winning
entries may be edited for spelling, punctuation and grammar
prior to publishing. However, we do encourage writers
to make certain their entries are as error-free as possible
prior to entering.
